“Green design has been a particular interest of mine, as many parts of hydraulic design are working in the bowels of the ship, hidden away. Using sustainable design tools and techniques, we work with Architects in creating interesting and efficient working spaces. It’s not just about placing fixtures on a drawing - you need to have a spatial awareness and an understanding of how building services can help transform a space. At eCubed we work on a wide variety of projects, where no two projects are the same, each with their own unique requirements.”

Conor has been with eCubed since our early days, and for over eight years has worked in the Hydraulic & Mechanical Services departments. His broad construction background, working both on-site as an apprentice plumber, progressing to the design team, becoming a qualified Project Manager and a Director in the firm since 2015, has enabled him to implement and coordinate multiple disciplines into a design from the start.

He has a particular interest in the advantages new technology can bring to project documentation and co-ordination, and has extensive training in both AutoCAD MEP drafting and Revit MEP modelling suites.

Conor’s particular fields of interest include:

  • Hydraulic Services Design

  • Sanitary Plumbing & Drainage

  • Stormwater Drainage

  • Potable Hot & Cold Water Supplies

  • Non-Potable Water Systems (Rainwater, Grey Water, Black Water)

  • Hot Water Plant

  • Gas Supply

  • Trade Waste Drainage

  • Construction Management

  • Water Efficient Design

  • Documentation Utilizing BIM / Revit

He has worked on many major and award-winning commercial projects, including Claudelands Event Centre, ANZ Viaduct Event Centre, Plant and Food Research Laboratory, numerous projects at Waitakere Hospital, Southern Cross Hybrid Theatre/Catheter Lab and the Everill Orr and Killarney Street Retirement Villages.

He has an interest in energy efficient and sustainable design, including Green Star rated buildings, solar energy production, and the Living Building Challenge.
