Sarah leads eCubed’s ESD team. She is a qualified ESD engineer with a Mechanical Engineering background.

 

Sarah holds a Master’s degree in Building Performance and Sustainability from the National University of Singapore. She keeps up to date on the latest research and innovations in the sustainable built environment including indoor environmental quality considerations, integrated design processes, data science for the built environment, and smart building control systems. 

 

Sarah is a qualified Green Star Accredited Professional, Homestar Assessor and NABERSNZ assessor. She also holds both a First-Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering, and a Bachelor of Science Degree specialising in Environmental Science & Physical Geography from the University of Auckland. 

 

Sarah has worked on a range of engineering and sustainability projects, with experience in simulation and building modelling including thermal modelling, energy simulation, performance optimisation, daylight modelling, computational fluid dynamics and code compliance. In addition, she has worked as a mechanical services designer on a variety of projects.

 

Sarah is one of those rare individuals who has a full range of skills, from building physics to detailed Mechanical engineering. She is also interested in the use of sustainable materials, life cycle analysis, and upfront carbon modelling.

 

Sarah has experience on a wide range of projects including the, ASB Waterfront theatre, SCION Innovation Hub, HB Williams Library, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare Building 4 (Research & Production Facility), Avondale Community Centre, Te Pūtahi Film Studio, and a variety of residential and school projects. Sarah has also led a range of research studies utilising mass simulation and optimisation.
